Excerpt from ‘Nablichting’, Chapter 3, Moving

That year I discovered I could express myself better, more directly, even more poetically, through photography than through language. When a picture worked out well I could show others at just a glance what I meant instead of having to tell a whole story. It was a revelation and an obsession, I spent all my time and money on it.To do this for a living seemed like a great idea. The only thing I might have liked better was playing in a rock band, but most of my friends were better guitar players than I was.
